Mogettes de Vendée, saving time and energy

An iconic dish of the Vendée region, the mogette is a simple yet demanding white bean! It requires time and attention. Exactly the kind of side dish or main course we love at Jack Meal, because we can simplify the lives of cooks.

Here, we have adapted the producer's suggestions (2 hours of cold soaking and 1.5 to 2 hours of cooking) by 10 minutes of active cooking over the fire and 3 hours of passive cooking in the bag.

Essential ingredients

  • 1 volume of Vendée mogette beans
  • 3 volumes of water

Possible variations : half a white onion, a clove of garlic, thyme or a bouquet garni, salt, pepper.

The Jack Meal adaptation

  1. In a saucepan, bring to a boil 1 volume of mogettes beans to 3 volumes of water.
  2. Let it boil for 10 minutes, then cover.
  3. Transfer the casserole dish into the Jack Meal thermal bag.
  4. Let it cook for 3 hours.
  5. Open it, it's ready.
