Lightweight camping to reconnect with what's essential

There are mornings when you leave home with a simple desire: to go for a walk with the children and sleep under the stars around a small campfire. A simple outing, full of adventure, laughter, and nature.
Get away from the noise, follow a marked trail, find a clearing, set up camp, make a small fire, admire the Milky Way…
In those moments, you understand that camping isn't about performance. It's about braving the unknown. It's an encounter with nature, with what truly matters. And children love it.
Pack less to live more
Leaving behind the superfluous is part of the journey! Learning to find your way around in ways other than with a GPS or a smartphone, building a shelter, preparing a small dinner by the fire for the children.
A backpack, water bottles, some food, blankets, pool mattresses, a thermal bag… and the essentials are there.
Jack Meals aren't designed as accessories, but as discreet companions: 400g for XS and S, 800g to 1kg for M and L. They also serve as small cushions when not carrying food. We take two: one as a small cooler for fresh produce, and the other as a mini oven to extend the cooking time and keep milk or coffee hot overnight.
Camping under the stars in the Vercors
Bivouacking is often imagined as a difficult adventure, especially with children.
But sometimes it's quite simple: set up a small camp by a river, listen to the children playing among the stones, swim in the river, feel the light fading behind the cliffs. Fall asleep to the sound of the water below. For added peace of mind, we brought a dog with us, which warns us if the wild boars get too close!
Dinner becomes magical. We heat a pot of water over a small campfire (in a designated area, of course). That evening, we made macaroni with butter and ham. We put the pot on the fire. As soon as the water simmered with the pasta, we covered the pot with a lid and slipped it into the thermal bag, and it continued cooking on its own for 15-17 minutes, resulting in perfectly tender pasta. We took advantage of the last embers to heat the milk for the little ones' morning and evening bottles. 70% energy saved , but more importantly, time gained to enjoy the last light on the trees and have warm milk ready for the babies when they wake up. The thermal bag will retain the heat all night, so there's no need to overuse energy or burn too much wood. Less effort, more comfort. Freedom doesn't need anything more.

Reassuring gestures
When night falls and the little ones fall asleep, one detail matters: the bag keeps the milk warm until morning.
A cool awakening, a gently steaming river, the scent of pine… and a bottle ready in no time. Parents know how much this small detail can change their whole day. And you can do the same for your parents' coffee. Prepare it just before going to bed. Heat it up nice and hot so it's as hot as possible when you wake up. No waiting.
Low tech, high freedom
Choosing a Jack Meal bag for outdoor activities is a way of adopting a form of deliberate simplicity:
One object, three functions, no battery, no parts to replace. If it breaks, it's easily repaired. If it gets stained, it's simply washed by hand or in the washing machine.
Cook, store, transport. A know-how inspired by the Norwegian cooker, revisited for those who seek to reconnect with nature without being weighed down.
